IBM System i General Courses

This course provides the basic concepts of IBM i Power Systems and explains the functions and the applications supported by IBM i operating system. With extensive hands on exercises provides the necessary skills to use control language (CL) commands, to manage the message queues and printouts and to understand the objects management and the basic security concepts.

This course provides an introduction to SQL language applied for DB2 environments and IBM QUERY/400 basic concepts. It provides the basic knowledge to code simple SQL and QUERY/400 statements in order to retrieve data from a DB2 table, to group and order the selected data, to perform simple numerical and alphanumerical operations, to join and merge tables, to modify table data using INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE commands and to create new tables or views.

This course offers the basic components of IBM MQ series and the path that messages follow when they are exchanged between applications. It also provides IBM MQ administration, file transfer management and security knowledge. By completing this course, the participants will have the ability to identify the main areas that IBM MQ can impact application design, to summarize queue manager and queue manager components administrative tasks and to manage the security levels of IBM MQ and IBM MQ Advanced Message Security.
